The set of wires or cables that connect the main parts of the computer together. For example, the data bus is normally made up of 16 wires and carries the data around the computer, from the processor to the memory or hard disk controller. The wires are thin copper lines on the main board, called the motherboard, inside your computer. There are three main buses in a PC: the address bus, which carries the memory location for the data that's travelling at the same time on the data bus, and the control bus, which carries a whole set of control and timing signals to make sure that all the components are working together.
